Division 03: Worker Roles

These team members will…

·      Assure that everything is dry and stored so that nothing is damaged

·      Make sure the generators are charged

·      Take inventory of what needs to be replaced; i.e. coffee/water/snacks/brochures…

The Transport Team member will

·      Determine if they can meet the day BEFORE the event to load their trucks/cars

·      Meet 3 hours before the festival/event’s start time to move supplies and equipment from storage to vehicles, from vehicles to our tents

·      Assist with setting up our tents

·      If their schedule allows, they will assist with vendor load-in and load-out

The Z-Squad Vendor Tent Manager(s) serves as the tent manager.

·      They will remain in the tent at all times.

·      They will keep records

o   They will log-in the Z-Squad, Z-Volunteers and Z-Elder Hosts on our Time Sheet.

§  They distribute the ZZZ Business Cards and Brochures to be given out.

o   They will keep a record of whoever borrows/checks out our supplies/equipment.

·      They will check in with the Elder Hosts in order to see if they have everything they need.

·      They remind all of the ZZZ members/volunteers

o   To give their “elevator pitch” when greeting vendors

o   To get vendor Business Cards and Brochures and give them to the manager

o    

·      They will assign someone to prepare and to serve coffee/tea/hot chocolate.

·      Some of our Z-Squad Members will arrive at the at the Storage Space, 3 hours before the start of the festival/event, in order to assist the transport team in moving our supplies and equipment to trucks and vehicles

o   The process should take about 45 minutes.

·      After arriving at the event site, they will help unload the vehicles and set-up our tents.

·      Soon after setting up our space, the Z-Squad members will assist the vendors with their load-in.

o   They may work up to about an hour after the event’s start time.

o   Most of the Squad members’ shifts will end at this time.

o   During the day, some scheduled Squad members can check in the Vendor Tent Manager about needs, run on-site errands and support the community as needed.

·      Some of the Z-Squad members, however, will leave their role until a few hours before the event ends.

o   They will then return to support the vendors with their load-out.

o   They will, also, assist with taking down and loading our tent, supplies & equipment for transport back to storage.

·      If/when we don’t have enough Squad members, the Vendor Tent Manager will LEND the equipment to vendors.

·       

NOTE:

·      No one is to lift anything that is too heavy for them.

·      You must get someone to help you when needed.

·      * When we have funding, Z-Squad members will be paid.

Our, treasured, Z-Volunteers are non-melanated allies who will assist the Z-Squad Members and perform everything included in their job descriptions, as they are able.

The Z-Elder Hosts will arrive at least one hour before the festival/event’s start time.

·      The will assist with setting up the tent, table and supplies, etc.

·      They give water as needed.

·      They make sure all of the elders have a fan.

·      When elders are seated in their own chairs, outside of our tent, if there is room, they will invite them in.

·      They will watch for elders who are struggling to walk and offer a cane or walker.
